Elizabeth Becks is a fifth year PsyD student at Holy Family University and a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cedar Crest College, and master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College. Elizabeth has over 10 years of experience in the mental health field working in the home, community, outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings providing both individual and group therapy. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and caregivers.
Elizabeth practices from a person-centered therapeutic approach, believing in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and creating a secure and non-judgmental environment for clients to express their feelings. She utilizes aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as principles of Mindfulness, to support clients in developing skills to face life’s challenges.
Areas of research and interest include pregnancy/postpartum/infertility, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss. Elizabeth is currently certified as a perinatal mental health specialist (PMH-C). She will also be receiving training in psychological assessments and testing, under the supervision of Dr. Leslie Chaundy.
